Life After Portland

I’m still basking in the awesomeness of Portland. I’m recovering well, and I’m excited for the next few months of downtime before we start training for Eugene. A lot has happened in the last two weeks — here are a few updates:

  • We bought a house and are scheduled to move in Nov. 21! Check out our new fancy kitchen!

My new kitchen!

And our new master bathroom….

  • I finished the Hunger Games trilogy. I read the first book when we were in California and the second two the week after Portland. At first I was sad the books were over, but it’s for the best. I was ADDICTED. I stayed up too late, ignored dishes that needed to be washed, and pretty much spent every second I wasn’t at work reading those dang books.
  • We leave tomorrow for a week in Scottsdale, AZ with John’s parents. I’m looking forward to laying by the pool, relaxing, and sleeping in. Oh, and seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time!

  • Unfortunately, no Halloween costumes this year — we’re too busy moving! I know this picture is random, but I saw it on Facebook and had to share! John is such a good sport when it comes to Halloween costumes. 🙂

My body is pretty much recovered from Portland, and I’m enjoying (yes, enjoying) short, Garmin-free miles. I feel rejuvenated and am easing back into running before increasing the intensity. Happy Friday!
